Now it’s official: British guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite, MGT for short, has signed with Hanover record imprint SPV and is scheduled to release his first solo album "Volumes" at the end of June. The lead single, ´Knowing Me Knowing You`, a cover version of the Abba classic featuring guest vocalist Ville Valo of HIM, will be available from 15 April, mixed by Tim Palmer and mastered by Maor Appelbaum. Valo is not the only guest musician on Volumes, which has turned into a veritable all-star recording. Other appearances include Wayne Hussey of Mark’s previous band The Mission, Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls of The Wonder Stuff, Ricky Warwick (Black Star Riders/Thin Lizzy), Raymond Watts (Pig/KMFDM), Saffron (Republica (Official)), Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Ashton Nyte (The Awakening), Carlo Van Putten (Dead Guitars) and Goth legend Andi Sex Gang.
Originally from Birmingham UK, MGT appeared on over 20 albums. He worked with The Mission, Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), Tricky, Gary Numan Official, Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy), Al Jourgensen (Ministry), P.J. Harvey, Roger Daltrey (The Who), members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alanis Morissette, Warrior Soul as well as Tommy Victor and Prong to name a few.
On the occasion of his joint concert with Ricky Warwick/Black Star Riders at London’s Kentish Town Forum, Mark Gemini Thwaite, Silke Yli-Sirniö (Tough Enough Promotion) and Gero Herrde (A&R SPV) met to sign the contracts. They later voiced their evident joy about the recently sealed collaboration.
Mark Gemini Thwaite: “Having been a member of The Mission for many years I have a longstanding relationship with Gero Herrde and SPV, a great independent label who have released several of our albums and live DVDs over the years. Now that I am finally releasing a solo album, I feel at home releasing the record through my friends at SPV!“

DANIEL LIONEYE - I Daniel Lioneye sono il sideproject degli HIM: alla voce Linde, al basso invece Migè e Ville alla batteria. I temi trattati si discostano parecchio da quelli abituali degli HIM in quanto le tematiche principali sono le classiche dell'hard rock: sesso, alcool e rock 'n' roll. Nulla di impegnativo comunque, in quanto la band si esibisce in un paio di concerti tutti in terra finnica e pubblicano un solo CD nel 2001 (tra l'altro non preventivato): The King of Rock'n Roll. Inoltre la band è conosciuta anche col nome di Daniel Lioneye and the Rollers e Daniel Lioneye and the Blues Explosion.
BLACK SALEM - I Black Salem sono una band, i cui membri sono Lux Airam (Ville), Miguelo (Migé) e Daniel Lioneye (Linde). Il 7 Settembre 2002 i Black Salem hanno suonato al Tavastia Klubi come band di supporto agli The Skreppers. I Black Salem hanno suonato 6 nuove canzoni, ancora sconosciute e irrealizzate, degli HIM: Buried Alive By Love, Beyond Redemption, Sweet Pandemonium, Soul On Fire, The Sacrament, The Funeral Of Hearts. Prima del concerto Ville ha spiegato che i ragazzi avrebbero usato questo nuovo nome temporaneamente a causa del problema H.I.M./ H.E.R.
THULSA DOOM - Gli H.I.M. hanno usato questo pseudonimo per il loro concerto come warm-up per The 69 Eyes il 25 Maggio 2001 al Tavastia Klubi di Helsinki. Hanno suonato delle canzoni tratte da Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights e delle canzoni (in versione riarrangiata) di Razorblade Romance e Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666. Ville Valo promises a new HIM album
The article says that rocker Ville Valo cannot imagine any other way to spend the New Year than being with Him as the band at Tavastia's traditional New Year's Eve gig. He tried, three years ago, Just him, alone with a Dr. Oetker's pizza. (The next bit didn't translate well: something about getting the guys together and getting going.) The New Year's Eve gig at Tavastia is special to Valo and he feels quite sentimental about it. "There's a bunch of people that come from Vladivostock and even from Brazil It's pretty absurd but this is a good, exotic place. It's good here." Then he speaks of gloomy events over the past year, citing the terrorist attach at the Eagles of Death Metal gig. He said HIM had a gig in Tokyo, Japan at the time that the attack was happening in Paris. "We received a call from the same club ? or two earlier so yes, it touches pretty close" (perhaps meaning it was a pretty close call). "Pretty wild stuff but it doesn't help to look backwards (?)" Valo notes. "Can't submit to being scared of the place (?). A hangover is scary enough1" The future of HIM is ?? currently unknown. "Not a clue and it makes it exciting and exotic". ( I think the next bit translates to mean...) The New Year's Eve gig is the culmination of HIM being on tour for two & a half years. However, there is the promise of a new HIM (album?), but no set date yet. "Ideas are so rough cut and the comptition is so fierce".

Ville iconic Munkkiniemi tower is now for sale, this is a new article about a new home purchased by Ville, but we still don't know if it's his new home or just a studio, but we guess both.

For real. "The mecca" for every HIM fans is now for sale. Ville bought this property almost 10 years ago, and now he's selling it, for almost the double! Well, if you have the money, this is without any doubt the holy grail for every him fans! More info when Ville bought the house back in 2006. It also seems that Ville bought a new house/studio in the Meilahti neighbourhood.

"4100 is in Silverlake. It's one of my favorite places. It was really close to where we were staying when we recorded our last album "Dark Light." That was my local pub where I wrote a lot of the lyrics for that album because it was the closest pub. It was right down the hill from where we were staying, and I walked there every night and walked back. I managed to have a couple of drinks and write. I understand it was really trendy back in the day. It's just a block of cement, and it's really dark inside. It's got that dark vibe. It's like the Burgundy Room, but it's bigger. It's pretty cool, because they played a lot of killer bands. "Smile Like You Mean It" was on the jukebox all the time. I wrote a lot of lyrics there, and that's the importance of that place to me."

"I went to Sushi Roku, and that was pretty good. Most of the Japanese stuff is based on fish, and I don't eat fish now. I've been to Japan and had the blowfish, so I'm hard to impress, but the service and food were good."

"Most of the time when we were living in LA and recording "Dark Light" we would always go to the Rainbow, the Roxy and the Whisky. The Rainbow used to be one of my favorites because of the patio. I smoke like a chimney, so it was great that you could smoke on the patio. You could order food if you want, and they play good music at a decent volume. You won't have a ringing in your ears the next day, and you can have a decent conversation with somebody."

"Mel's Diner on the corner of Sunset plaza is where I would go a lot. The service is great, and the veggie burgers are really good. I love the diner stuff: when you buy a cup of coffee you get refills. Nowadays, I'm not drinking, I need refills. I could drink 10 cups of coffee in half an hour easily. That place was really good. I was hanging out there a lot when we were mixing the last record."

"My local bar was Red Rock. That was one of the places I hung out at all of the time. I usually ate there too, because the salads were really good. I like restaurants that are a bit more chill like Red Rock."

"The Standard's pretty good. It's got a great cafe, because it's open 24/7. From traveling a lot, your system is used to eating at odd times, so it's great if you wake up in the middle of the night that you can actually eat breakfast at two o'clock in the morning. That's what I like about a diner. That's really my cup of tea."

"Well Toi is one of my favorite Thai places obviously. Toi's excellent! Whenever you go there, order the "Yellow Jimmy." The legend was that there was some traveling musician named Jimmy, and he went to Toi so many times that they knew exactly what he wanted. It's not on the menu, so you've got to ask for it. Have the "Yellow Jimmy" with shrimp or chicken. It's basically yellow curry with whatever you want." -

On New Year’s Eve HIM, At The Hollow and DJ Jussi69 turn Tavastia & Semifinal into the garden of diabolical love. For one magickal night we are promised a coming of age like no other, a Sweet Sixteen party bittersweet & electric. For it will be the sixteenth time that HIM leads the New Year’s festivities at Helsinki’s number one rock venue, their spiritual home. All the way into 2016.
The event marks the end of a grueling world tour that for two and a half years has taken HIM all over the globe. It will also be the first hometown gig for the band with new drummer Jukka ‘Kosmo’ Kröger. All in all, it’s time for an intimate celebration among friends. Friends like At The Hollow , a Helsinki trio consisting of guitar, double bass and percussion, that travels musically between purity and death. Or DJ Jussi69, who has been promised ‘a virtual carte blanche’ to be his own flamboyant self. And, of course, you guys!
