In Venus Doom
Ville Valo ha tratto varie ispirazioni grazie alla celeberrima opera “Inferno” di Dante.
Nel 2007 gli HIM hanno pubblicato l’album Venus Doom, composto da 9 canzoni (proprio come i 9 cerchi dell’Inferno di Dante):
'Oh you know as well as I do, we start with the circle of number 1,
through 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6
and oh and how we descend to the ninth
the last where we're judged for what did to our sweet
Venus yeah we're bleeding well in all layers of hell. At least I (jibberish)'

L’ultimo dove veniamo giudicati per quello che abbiamo fatto alla nostra cara Venere
Si, stiamo dissanguando bene in tutti i gironi dell’inferno. Almeno io... (rumori)
Sempre in Venus Doom, c’è un altro passo davvero interessante:
My hell begins from the 10th and descends to the circle
Six hundred threescore and six
And from there I crawl beneath Lucifer's claws just for one last kiss
Traduzione:
Il mio inferno comincia dal decimo e discende al cerchio
Seicentosessantasei
E da lì ho strisciato sotto gli artigli di Lucifero
solamente per un ultimo bacio.
Questo è invece un pezzo contenuto nella traccia “Sleepwalking Past Hope”, altro chiaro riferimento a Dante.
Tatuaggi
Intorno al 2005 Ville Valo si è tatuato sul polso un chiaro riferimento all’Inferno Dantesco:
La scritta C 1:1-3 significa:
Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita
mi ritrovai per una selva oscura
chè la diritta via era smarrita
C 1= prima cantica
1-3= versi dall’1 al 3
Un vero e proprio “tatuaggio cifrato” che denota la grande passione di Ville per quest'opera!
Ecco cosa ha rivelato Ville riguardo il tatuaggio:
"ERR: The other question everybody has. A very small tattoo, but above the heart on your wrist and above where it says DILLIGAF, you got some symbols or numbers or something and everyone is dying to know what that is.
VV: Oh my god! People just uh, uh that’s weird.
ERR: Yeah uh that’s nothing (laughs).
VV: Well that is, that’s so weird though. It’s one of my friends did it. It’s um it says cunto um which means chapter. It doesn’t mean anything nasty. Um it’s um hold on. It’s from uh Dante’s Inferno.
ERR: ah ok.
VV: From kinda the beginning I guess. You know I don’t know the different translations but um you know…I don’t have the Inferno with me now so I can’t read the exact line for ya but uh, but uh it’s just a line that keeps me going so it’s one of those things I just love uh you know love um u know nothing about getting tattoos to much, just going with the flow."

Nemmenno io perchè, se vupi fare un mega post su tutti i riferimenti Danteschi nelle opere di Ville...allora è una bella gatta da pelare....sarebbe un lavoro lungo ed enciclopedico..almeno ho questa sensazione e andrebbe impostato diiversamente! . -

Questo intanto è un abbozzo di pagina per poi inserire in futuro nuove cose, hmmm non mi vengono in mente altri album apparte SW e Venus Doom, dove viene menzionata la divina commedia, o qualsiasi altra opera di dante... per adesso... ovviamente la miglioreremo

Sembra ci sia un riferimento ancora ai 3 versi iniziali dell'Inferno.
Comunque ho tradotto gli estratti di Bleed Well Acustica e Sleepwalking Past Hope.... three score and sixxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx E migliorato la formattazione (almeno spero!)

While I don't necessarily disapprove of their other albums, this one in particular has grown extremely sentimental for me.
